Becoming a full-time singer songwriter has been one of the most fulfilling/scariest things I’ve ever done… I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I love playing those small, intimate venues where you can hear a pin drop and look the audience in the eye when you’re sharing your stories…
I put everything I have into my songs, whether writing them or performing them, and I’ve been told on numerous occasions that this is apparent. I have lovingly stitched together my stories and melodies with carefully crafted lyrics and I relive the experiences each time I perform them.
(Left to Right) Philippe Kuhn, JRH, Roberto Caruso, Reto Spörli
When I play solo, I use an acoustic guitar, stomp block and loop pedal to get the songs across although I often play double header shows with my good friend, Phil Cooper, another singer songwriter from the Southwest of England – we use a cajon and add vocal harmonies which add a whole new dynamic to our songs.
If you’re fortunate enough to see me play further afield in Europe, then you’re in for a treat – I get to perform my songs with a full band set up as The Unshakeables with seasoned session players Reto Spörli (drums), Philippe Kuhn (keyboards), and Roberto Caruso (bass guitar) adding a extra dimension to my songwriting. I’m so lucky to have found these guys… we’re all on the same page musically speaking. The way I see it, the most important thing is the song and they totally respect that. They’ve helped my songs to evolve to the next level… visit my releases page to see where you can get your hands on our debut EP, ‘Planets’
To see if I’m playing near you soon, have a look at my Gig Page – and if there’s a venue near you where you’d like to see me play, please get in touch and let me know!
